TTAS Review of the Year (January – March)

TTAS Review of the Year (January – March)

As the year draws to a close, we thought it would be an ideal opportunity to take a look back on some of the events that TTAS reported on in 2011.

It was a very up and down year for everyone, with stock markets crashing, the Euro zone almost going ** POP **, but for Peverel / OM it would be a year that they’d probably like to forget about.

There’s lots to look back on and we’ve chosen to break the year into four parts so that we don’t miss anything juicy!

Seasons Greetings from everyone at TTAS

Seasons Greetings from everyone at TTAS

TTAS would like to wish all our supporters, contributors and contacts a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas comes early for Purfleet residents

Christmas comes early for Purfleet residents

Christmas came early for the residents at “The Haven” on the 22 December 2011, when they finally said goodbye to OM Property Management.

Peverel / OM Property Management did their normal trick of trying to cause problems for the new RMC company, in an attempt to delay proceedings – but these were quickly overcome.

Consort advise residents against changing agents at Port Marine

Consort advise residents against changing agents at Port Marine

TTAS has previously reported on the problems faced by residents at the exclusive ‘Port Marine’ development in Portishead, Bristol and it would appear that things are yet to improve, despite our publicity.

Following the publication of the ‘Find a Friend’ pages, over fifty residents from Port Marine (PM) have been in touch to tell us about increasing charges, lack of services and a general consensus that Consort Property Management / OM Property Management are letting the development deteriorate into a state of dis-repair – whilst profiting from service charges.

Find a Friend Update

Find a Friend Update

More developments have been listed to the TTAS “Find a Friend” page and we have listed over ONE THOUSAND developments / estates, that are / have been managed by Peverel / OM Property Management.

Based on the information we’ve received so far, we anticipate that OM are generating around £500k in service charges per month – a nice little earner.

It does demonstrate how bad the situation is for Peverel if these fees aren’t enough to cover their costs and couldn’t stop them (associated companies) from entering Administration.

“Find a Friend” just became a lot easier

“Find a Friend” just became a lot easier

Yesterday we requested that residents send us details of their estate/development, to enable TTAS to publish a comprehensive list of Peverel sites so that residents could “Find a Friend” and fight as one.

We had an overwhelming response that will send shock waves through Peverel and their associated companies, because it wasn’t one or two residents that contacted us.

It’s not a small minority of residents with grievances

It’s not a small minority of residents with grievances

It really angers us when we read/hear about stories that relate to issues with property management companies, when they refer to them as the problem only affecting a minority.

Correspondence we receive comes in waves and usually co-insides with the arrival of the next service charge bill, but the good thing is – more people are discovering TTAS and realising that they are not alone in being ripped of by their management company.

Today we bring you details of some of the issues Peverel/OM customers face.

Independent regulation would you be favour?

Independent regulation would you be favour?

TTAS have been at the forefront of championing for regulation of the property management sector by the Government. However, we feel that there is the risk of independent regulation whereby the Government may choose to appoint an independent party to undertake such regulation….. in a way “privatising the regulation of property management”.

Today, we express our concerns and what the future may hold.

Major developer announces they will no longer use Peverel

Major developer announces they will no longer use Peverel

TTAS first revealed that Barratt Homes we’re in the process of setting up a ‘Property Management’ division that was soon to be headed up by former Peverel Director – Andrew Billson.

A decision that suggests developers are starting to realise the impact of an under performing management company, can have on their properties.

Today, we publish an ‘exclusive’ report on yet another major developer, who has allegedly informed Peverel that they will no longer be contracted to maintain their new-build developments.

NOTB – Customer Service Award 2011 ‘Fixed?’

NOTB – Customer Service Award 2011 ‘Fixed?’

You heard it here first on the 25 November 2011, that ‘OM Property Management’ would win the News on the Block, Customer Service 2011 Award. A whole ten days before the winners would be revealed.

When we published the article ‘NOTB Customer Service Award 2011 Nominees’, we revealed how the nominees could be voted for and also how the management companies could ‘anonymously’ vote for themselves – making the whole ‘award’ a joke quite frankily.
