Another Body To Register Your Complaint With

Many of us will have registered complaints with ARMA, BBC Watchdog and even directly to Solitaire / Peverel, but we’ve been in contact with another body, that maybe able to help us. Consumer Focus is an independent champion for consumers across England, Wales, Scotland and (for postal consumers) in Northern Ireland.  They operate across the whole of the economy, persuading businesses and public services to put consumers at the heart of what they do. The latter part of the above paragraph is clearly something SPM / PPMG [...]

BBC Visiting Once Again

A very quick post to let everyone know and more importantly - to advise the powers that be at the Consensus Business Group, that this morning TheTruthAboutSolitaire received another visit that originated from the BBC. The most important fact of this visit was the search engine term that was used to find us ”board of directors peverel group”.  I’d like to point out that we have not been contacted by the BBC (yet) – but surely the fact they are researching using this term, would suggest that they are [...]

It’s not all about the negatives of Solitaire

We’ve been monitoring the way in which people find TheTruthAboutSolitaire website and it is apparent that many people are finding us through phrases such as Solitaire Complaints, Poor Solitaire Service, How to change management companies, etc. In addition to this, we also get many people referring visitors to the website via forums such as Money Saving Expert, Yahoo, Facebook and many online property websites, where people ask questions about our favourie management companies. When referred too within forums, the occasional post is written that mentions that TheTruthAboutSolitaire is only aimed at the [...]

Solitaire’s Online Customer Feedback

All comments that are made on TheTruthAboutSolitaire are approved before being published and today we received an entry on the ‘Management Agencies Under Fire’ post from Solitaire’s Online Feedback Manager. Rather than let this comment go ignored in the background, I thought I’d add it as an entry for everyone to be able to comment on it for his perusal. Therefore, here is his post:- Hi all, I’d like to introduce myself. My name’s Andy and I work at Peverel Property Management Group, which took [...]

Management Agencies Under Fire

Following the recent BBC Watchdog broadcast, today the BBC News 24 Channel broadcast a piece by Keith Doyle, who highlighted calls for greater regulation of property management agencies in England and Wales. The industry’s own governing body says many people who live in flats and apartments are paying huge service charges, but seeing little maintenance work in return.  See the broadcast for yourselves: Despite Watchdog not focusing on specific management companies, it certainly appears that the BBC have found this issue of interest, as they continue to publicise the issues. Share [...]

Contact Your MP

As ‘A N Onymous’ posted yesterday, that it would appear the only way forward is to lobby our local MP’s for a change in the law – for a regulator to control the Property Management Industry. Especially at this difficult political time, when politicians will want to keep voters happy with the General Election not too far away!  The chances are that they will look to support you, in particular if you refer them to contact Jim Devine (MP) of the All Party Parliamentary Group. Therefore, [...]

Property Management Agents

Since the BBC Watchdog broadcast, TheTruthAboutSolitaire website has been receiving many hits from other property management agents – who are obviously keen to find out more about the experiences of Solitaire Property Management / Peverel clients. I’d like to say, having been contacted by many of these property management agents, there does appear to be some ‘Good Guys’ out there, who want to help residents and provide a service that we require.  Many agents have said that the Watchdog broadcast tarnished the industry with a negative opinion, [...]

Solitaire / Peverel Website Hits

Some of you may think that Solitaire / Peverel do not pay any attention to TheTruthAboutSolitaire website, but be rest assured that they certainly do. They are actually the 2nd most regular visitors to the website and already this morning at 8.35am, they were online having a good read of the Watchdog posts that were written yesterday. Interestingly enough, that they find the website by usually Googling ‘Solitaire Property Management‘ or ‘The Truth About Solitaire‘ Since the broadcast by Watchdog last night, the website recieved hundreds of [...]

BBC Watchdog – 20 April 2009

I’m sure many of you have watched this evening’s BBC Watchdog program that focused on the failures of Property Management Companies, who are happy to take our money, but don’t appear to want to provide a service for it! It was certainly an enlightening piece and it was good to see so many people at the get together, who all shared the same view that we are all fed up with things.  Right to Manage seems the only way to go, but it can be a long [...]

BBC Watchdog

It would appear that the BBC have definitely picked up on the stories about Property Management Companies. Having just read the blog on the BBC Watchdog website, it would appear they are focusing on whether it’s time to change the law.  We quote from the homepage of the BBC Website: If you own a flat and live on a private estate the chances are you’re paying an annual fee to a management company. We’ve heard from hundreds of owners who are stuck paying for services [...]
