A Classic Example of Peverel’s Tactics

Those that are not that familar with the way Peverel Group operate within the Property Management Sector, may be interested to read the following e-mail that we received from a TheTruthAboutSolitaire contributor. Good afternoon. Firstly, the website is brilliant – please keep up the good work!! Secondly… I’m at my wits end with County Estate Management. When I bought my house, naïve first-time buyer as I was, the PMC was Peverel. They became Peverel OM. Then I was told that Peverel OM had been sacked and CEM brought [...]

Calling All Residents Undertaking RTM / LVT

To try and encourage more residents / developments to undertake RTM and on the suggestion of a few contributors to TheTruthAboutSolitaire, we would like to hear from you if you are currently undertaking an RTM / LVT that involves any of the Consensus Business Group / Peverel Group companies, or you’ve been successful enough to get rid of them without the need of the above. It would be interesting to know just how many developments are currently trying to remove PG / CBG PMC’s and where [...]

Yet Another CBG Company

The ever growing list of Consensus Business Group of Property Management Companies never seems to surprise, by the sheer number of Freehold companies / PMC’s – that are associated with CBG. This time, it’s a new name that has been brought to our attention – namely Roselab Ltd – who are the freeholder of a development, that is managed by a company called ‘Pennycuick Collins’. The contributor who brough this to our attention sent the following message and would welcome any advice that other TTAS [...]

How Did PMC’s Come About?

The whole Property Management concept is a money making industry, but there are still many questions about how PMC’s have appeared to become the ‘norm’ in many new developments. Fortunately, one of TheTruthAboutSolitaire admins was in discussion with ARMA and asked the question of ‘why it appears that all new developments are managed by PMCs?’ ARMA explained that when developers started building estates that had a mixture of houses and flat’s, there was a responsibility to look after the shared area’s e.g. private roads, common areas.  Originally, this responsibility was the developers.  However, [...]

Increase in Residential Associations being Setup.

In the last few weeks, we have been receiving hundreds of e-mails each week from residents who have been asking us for advice on how to deal with Solitaire Property Management / Peverel, Consort and any of the other Consensus Business Group property management companies. It would appear the publicity generated by the City Height’s LVT has encouraged a number of estates to start establishing Residential Associations and gaining the support of fellow residents to turn the tide on Peverel / Solitaire. From the contributors [...]

NewsOnTheBlock.com Promoting Downing St Petition

The Downing Street Petition is gathering even more support from many of the leading Property Websites and this time, it’s NewsOnTheBlock that are highlighting the cause! This demonstrates that our cause is a worthy one and we’d like to thank Darren Rossiter for having the idea of setting it up. NewsOnTheBlock also features an interesting interview with Melissa Briggs – one of the founders of CARLEX, that is worth having a read of to get an insight into CARLEX. The Digital Switchover Many people today have [...]

Story of the Bollards… yes Bollards!

We’ve been contacted by the residents of Virginia Quay, in London Docklands who were quoted around £25,000 for the installation of a bollards system at their estate, which apparently actually ended up costing them £82,000! Over 200% more for a bollard system! They told us that the company who installed the system were called ‘Fortress Security Systems’ and it is a former ‘Peverel Employee’ that is running the operations for them. The former employee’s ‘LinkedIn’ profile can be found at: [Link removed as requested by the [...]

Response to Andy’s Comment from Yesterday

Andy from Solitaire kindly contributed to the site for the first time in a long while, with his comments on inaccuracies in the post relating to the City Heights LVT To view his comments click here TheTruthAboutSolitaire only report the facts that the residents in question advise us of and your response, sounds very much like the one which Peverel issued to CARLEX, when CARLEX reported that Peverel were taking down posters promoting RTM and CARLEX meetings – which was something along the lines of “we have not informed [...]

BBC Nottingham’s Coverage of City Height’s LVT

TheTruthAboutSolitaire has been able to make a recording of the BBC East Midlands Today program, that was aired on the 15 February 2010, that publicised the recent LVT Victory for City Heights Residents. The LVT verdict has resulted in Solitaire / Peverel Property Management, being ordered to reimburse the residents of City Heights in excess of £187,000. Below is the YouTube footage for those that were unable to view the program. This victory we hope will act as an inspiration to all unhappy residents of [...]

Residents Going Over Things With A Fine Tooth Comb

Since the revelation of City Height’s LVT success, we have been bombarded with resident associations and residents contacting us for copies of their Determination. We hope that we’ve been able to reply to you all with the information and if we have forgotten to send you the determination, please contact us again! Insurance premiums are clearly a touchy subject amongst us all and we are pleased to see that so many of you have been going through your paperwork with a fine tooth comb and [...]
